How attractive is red powder coating to consumers?

Source: FounderDate: June 29, 2024; Browse:0

Red is the traditional color of Chinese people. We can see the existence of red in our life and culture, especially the authentic Chinese red, which has become the representative color of our country. Therefore, various types of red have become one of the basic colors of powder coatings.

PR.48:1 is a pale yellow red to medium red color. PR48:1 is a barium salt that has good fastness to many common organic solvents such as esters, ketones, fatty hydrocarbons, and aromatic hydrocarbons, but poor fastness to saponification, acid, and alkali.

PR.48:2 is blue red in color, slightly bluer than PR48:1 and much yellow than PR57:1. PR48:2 is a calcium salt, and its solvent resistance is similar to that of the corresponding barium salt. It is inferior to PR48:1 in terms of disinfection resistance and also has poor saponification fastness. But the sun fastness of pr48:2 is significantly higher than that of pr48:1.

PR.48:3 The color light is noticeably blue compared to PR48:1, while yellow compared to PR48:2. PR48:3 is a strontium salt, which has the best color resistance among all metal salts, but has a certain degree of migration. PR48:3 is more sun resistant than PR48:2.

PR.57:1 is in magenta standard color. PR57:1 is a calcium salt with high yield and usage in organic pigments. It is resistant to commonly used organic solvents, but not to saponification, acid, or alkali. Due to the poor color fastness of azo lake pigments, their application in coatings is limited.

PR.170 is in a positive red color. PR170 exhibits homogeneity and polymorphism. There are two crystal forms of commercially available products, which differ in transparency. Transparent varieties have a slight blue light, while high coverage varieties are more stable in various solvents than transparent varieties. PR170 will not frost, but it will bleed. It has excellent sun fastness and weather fastness, and can be used in high-end occasions. And it has very good fluidity, and high addition does not affect the gloss. The covering variety has better resistance to recoating and sun fastness than the transparent variety.

PR.177 This product has two options: transparency and coverage. PR177 is often combined with inorganic pigments (such as molybdenum chromium red) to obtain bright colors, with good sun fastness and weather fastness. If mixed with metallic paint, the weather fastness is slightly worse. Covering varieties are more yellow than transparent varieties and have better weather resistance. But pr177 will react with aluminum or other reducing substances, which must be noted.

PR.178 appears medium red. Although PR178 also has two crystal forms, only one has practical value, so few people talk about its homogeneity and polymorphism. Full color or dark colored products have satisfactory light fastness and weather fastness. However, if left outdoors for a long time, the color light will darken, and the weather resistance of the product will sharply decrease after being diluted with TiO2. PR178 has good stability in high boiling point solvents and good heat resistance, with a temperature resistance of up to 220 ℃.

PR.254, PR.255, and PR.264 are pyrrole pyrrolidone (dpp) pigments. dpp pigments have the advantages of high coloring power, bright color, good flowability in application media, high addition amount does not affect leveling and luster, and excellent light fastness and weather fastness, high heat stability, and good resistance to organic solvents.

PR.254 is a bright medium red color with a specific surface area of 14.7 m2/g, a density of 1.60 g/c m3, and an oil absorption capacity of 60. It is acid resistant, alkali resistant, water-resistant, and resistant to aromatic hydrocarbon solvents, ketones, alcohols, and ester solvents, with fastness levels of 4-5 and 5.

PR.255 is yellow light red in color, with a specific surface area of 10-15 m2/g, a density of 1.41 g/cm3, and an oil absorption of 41-59. The acid and alkali fastness are both at level 5, and the organic solvent fastness is at level 4-5.

PR.264 has a blue light red color, a specific surface area of 93.4m2/g, a density of 1.35g/cm3, and an oil absorption capacity of 57. It has a fastness to acid and alkali of level 5, and a fastness to organic solvents of level 4-5 or 5.

There are countless shades of red in nature, but not all of them are visible to us. Therefore, what we need to do is to showcase these red colors to our eyes through technology. There are many types of colors for powder coatings, and not only red, but almost all colors that can be thought of can be found in powder coating manufacturers.
