How much do you know about powder coatings?

Source: FounderDate: June 29, 2024; Browse:0

Powder coating is a very high-quality material. There are many demands for powder coatings in daily life, and there are also many types of powder coatings themselves. Consumers can choose according to their own needs and preferences. Will the use of powder coating cause harm to the environment? This time, the railing plastic powder manufacturer will briefly describe the powder coating. Do you have any knowledge about powder coatings?

Classification of particles in powder coatings

The particles of the coating generally refer to the point like protrusions that appear on the surface of the coating after the coating is completely cured, which can cause damage to the continuity and integrity of the coating. This not only seriously affects the appearance quality and aesthetic requirements of the coating, but also affects the overall mechanical and chemical properties of the coating, reducing the quality produced. According to their sources, they can be divided into two categories: particles present in powder coatings themselves and particles caused during coating construction. Particles present in powder coatings themselves can be divided into three types: mechanical impurities, gelatinized particles, and large particle size coarse particles. Particles caused during coating construction are mainly divided into four types: substrate defects, pre-treatment defects, spray system pollution, and environmental pollution.

Environmental pollution caused by powder coatings

Environmental pollution in the powder room: The clothing and tools used by personnel in the powder room (such as cardboard boxes, dust removal cloths, etc.) contain fibers or are not clean themselves; Serious dust on the floor of the powder room and floating dust inside the powder room; The powder room is not sealed, and external dust or particles caused by polishing entering the powder room can cause particles to be generated during the coating spraying process (in the case of electrostatic spraying, solid small particles in the air will be automatically adsorbed on the workpiece due to static electricity). Controlling such particles is mainly to keep the powder room clean and tidy, and maintaining a certain humidity in the powder room is also beneficial for reducing particle production.

Environmental pollution in the drying oven: The presence of particulate waste formed by combustion materials in the drying oven (coal, biological particles, natural gas all produce solid particulate matter, and direct heating solidification furnaces are more obvious), and dust on the inner wall and bottom of the drying oven adhering to the surface of the workpiece due to thermal cycling can cause particles to appear on the coating surface. The main way to control such particles is to use indirect heating to heat the curing furnace as much as possible, ensuring that the air entering the curing furnace is clean and maintaining regular cleaning of the curing furnace.

There is a great demand for powder coatings in society. Consumers and manufacturers have many requirements when making purchases. In fact, there are many types and styles of powder coatings themselves. The above briefly expresses some types of powder coatings. It also discusses some differences between powder coatings and the environment. Consumers with needs can call more for consultation. Powder coating manufacturers will also sell non-standard door plastic powder for anti-theft doors, courtyard door plastic powder, and railing plastic powder. Welcome to call for consultation.
